Welcome to Creative Discoveries Cooperative Preschool.  This is a parent-operated school, registered with the State of Oregon as a non-profit organization, and has been in existence since 1971.  We are a  member of Parent Child Preschools of Oregon (PCPO)-a non-profit organization of more than 60 cooperative preschools and kindergartens.  Creative Discoveries Preschool is open to the entire community and serves children 18 months to 5 years old.

Cooperative preschools provide an exciting adventure in learning for parents and young children together!

It is a program that is operated by a group of parents who take an active interest in their children's first educational experience.  Parents help the teacher in the classroom and are involved in school decision and policy making.  Moms and Dads are also provided educational opportunities through conferences and parent education meetings.  Parents receive moral support and mutual understanding from other parents with the same concerns, interests and problems - support which often results in life-long friendships.

There is much involvement from parents in a cooperative preschool.  Two to three parents assist the teacher each day in the classroom as "parent-teachers".  Each family holds a job, which is vital to the success of our program.  We ask all our families to make a commitment to our fundraising efforts.  You can also expect to provide a share of field trip transportation.
